Own a piece of history! Here is a very well cared for Model 1917, 30-06 American Enfield service rifle. This rifle has been sporterized. The stock is in good shape with a few "dents", but no scratches through the finish. It has a Redfield rear sight, with a Lyman hooded front site. The sights were very common aftermarket accessories with these rifles. It has an aftermarket leather sling that is still in very good shape with no dry-rotting present. The receiver has been drilled and tapped, with the bases being spaced about 7 1/2" apart. The rings and scope are not present. This rifle was made August 1918, by the Remington Arms Company in Illion, NY. Remington proofing stamps are found on both the rifle and bolt, indicating that the bolt is original.
